New York Rx Card Program-- Now Available to All Residents!
New York -

NEW YORK – The New York Rx Card is a new program created for the residents of New York.  This is a free prescription discount card open to all residents.  There are no age limitations or income requirements; everyone is eligible for this program.  The New York Rx Card Program was developed to help the uninsured and under-insured afford prescription medications. People with insurance can use this program if they have high deductibles or are in need of non-formulary drugs that insurance plans do not cover.  Seniors on Medicare Part D can also benefit from this card during the “gap period”, known as the “donut hole”.  The savings with this card can be as much as 75%!

Every major pharmacy accepts this program and there are over 57,000 pharmacies that will honor the card nationwide.  There are nearly 5,800 pharmacies throughout New York that participate in this program and a complete list of these locations can be found at www.NewYorkRxCard.com.  The New York Rx Card is a free program developed to serve as a valuable community service to help residents more easily manage health care expenses. The New York Rx Card Program understands that the residents of New York may need assistance with prescription medications and other health insurance solutions. Therefore, the New York Rx Card has partnered with Health Access America (HAA), Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPARX) and other non-profit organizations, dedicated to educating the public about affordable health care options.

To get a New York Rx Card visit www.NewYorkRxCard.com – it is that easy.  Simply print the card and bring it to a participating local pharmacy to receive an instant discount on prescription medications! For those without internet access, call 1-877-321-6755 and ask to have a New York Rx Card sent in the mail.

The New York Rx Card is powered by UNA Rx Card, which is a division of United Networks of America.  Francesco Ciccone, Executive Vice President, noted that the UNA Rx Card has set up similar programs in other states and has saved residents across the country millions of dollars on prescription costs.  Similar programs have already been set up in Louisiana, Arizona, New Jersey, Tennessee, Ohio, Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Florida, North and South Carolina, and California.  It is UNA’s mission to introduce a prescription discount card program in every state by the end of 2007.
