Something’s Cookin’ in the [Energy] Kitchen

Celebrity Eatery of Choice Brings New Meaning to Healthy Dining;

Energizes Regional Growth with Franchise Opportunity

Manhattan, NY – Energy Kitchen has redefined the healthy, fast-casual dining industry with its unique, low-calorie menu concept of nothing over 500 calories and everything grilled, baked or steamed – never fried. The rapidly growing quick service concept has positioned itself at the forefront of the culinary horizon and is feeding consumer appetites with its uncontested menu and healthy experience.

With nine locations throughout the New York metropolitan area the company’s plans call for an additional 50 restaurants in the next three years, targeting the Tri-State area for expansion.

With a customer list that reads like a “Who’s Who” of Hollywood, Energy Kitchen is introducing a new era of healthy eating with its nutritious and convenient meal choices. Providing low-calorie, low-fat, tasty eats that are good for you, Energy Kitchen invites its customers to eat healthy without sacrificing taste. Nothing on the menu is over 500 calories and everything is grilled, baked or steamed and never fried.

“As more and more consumers begin to realize that fast food doesn’t have to be fat food, we look forward to continuing to provide them with a healthy, delicious alternative to their dining options,” said Anthony Leone, Founder and President of Energy Kitchen. We know that all calories are not created equal so we created lean, delicious meal options to keep our customers energized. “We’re all about providing our guests with nutritious and convenient food that supports their active, healthy lifestyle.  We provide a simple, yet guilt-free dining experience like they have never had before.”

Increasingly frustrated with his inability to find a restaurant that served healthy options quickly, Leone took matters into his own hands and opened the first Energy Kitchen in New York City in 2004. Soon after, Leone, a veteran of such concepts as Boston Market and Ranch One, partnered with loyal customer Randy Schechter and expanded the concept citywide. Featuring a menu of low-calorie wraps, burgers, salads and beverages, among others, it didn’t take long for Energy Kitchen to become the hottest healthy eatery of choice in New York City.

"We wanted to set a new standard, as eating healthy should be easy and taste great too," added Schechter, Vice President of Energy Kitchen. "We take nutrition seriously as do our customers. Unlike our competitors, we believe in transparency so
there are no hidden ingredients, no hidden calories, no hidden serving sizes and no fryers on premise, with all of the nutritional information listed in stores and online.”

To augment the company’s growth, Energy Kitchen is seeking healthy, passionate multi-unit franchisees, as well as area developers with the resources and capacity to create and manage a restaurant that effectively recruits, retains, trains and motivates people. Franchising opportunities range from multi-unit ownership to area developer opportunities in various markets across the Tri-State region. The average cost to open an Energy Kitchen is between $300,000 and $500,000, with a franchise fee of $30,000.
