Seventeen WPO Members Win Enterprising Women Of The Year Awards
New York -

NEW YORK – Marsha Firestone, president of the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), has announced that 17 out of 30 2006 Enterprising Women of the Year Award winners are members of the Women Presidents’ Organization. Two award winners, Janice Bryant Howroyd and Judi Sheppard Missett, are also 2006 Enterprising Women Hall of Fame Inductees.

 

“That seventeen of the thirty Women of the Year recipients are WPO members is an extremely validating testament to the organization,” said Firestone. “All of these extraordinary women are able to collaborate and connect with each other on a professional and personal level. Quite obviously, they are in good company.”

 

Howroyd is the founder of the Act-1 Group, the largest woman-owned, minority-owned staffing company in the country located in Torrance, Calif. Missett is the founder of Jazzercise, Inc. in Carlsbad, Calif., the nation’s leading dance-fitness program with 36 years of experience and 6,300 franchises across the country and around the globe.

 

Among the 2006 Enterprising Women of the Year Award Winners, three Women Presidents’ award winner members have earned over $25 million in annual revenue: 

·         Roz Alford of ASAP Staffing, LLC, Norcross, Ga.

·         Carmen Castillo of SDI International, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

·         Katherine Henson of Avail Workforce Management, Atlanta, Ga.

 

Five award winners have earned over $10 million and up to $25 million in annual revenue:

·         Cassandra Sanford of KellyMitchell, St. Louis, Mo.

·         Terri E. McNally of Global Capital, Ltd., Graylake, Ill.

·         Tana Greene of Strataforce, Cornelius, N.C.

·         Clarice Kennedy of Chamrock Computer Network Inc., New York, N.Y.

·         June R. Coldren of Cenergy Corporation, New Orleans, La.

 

Four award winners have earned over $5 million and up to $10 million in annual revenue:

·         Linda Coughlin of Metro-Home NYC LLC, New York, N.Y.

·         Johanna Hambrose of Electronic Ink, Philadelphia, Pa.

·         Lana Calloway of Exhibit Resources, Inc., Raleigh, N.C.

·         Lisa R. Gladstone of Priority One Financial Services, St. Petersburg, Fla.

 

Three award winners have earned  $1 million and up to $5 million in annual revenue:

·         Janice Hamilton of JMH Education, New York, N.Y.

·         Mary Quigg of Vandover, St. Louis, Mo.

·         Pamela Washington of A-1 Janitorial Services, Las Vegas, Nev.

 

Nine WPO members have also been recognized as 2006 Enterprising Women of the Year finalists:

·         Boni Lonnsburry of In Touch Today, Broomfield, Colo.

·         Manuela Marcheggiani of Isomers Laboratories, Ontario

·         Kathy Durfee of TechHouse, Sarasota, Fla.

·         Norma Polcek of Samco Promotional Products; Machesney Park, Ill.

·         Debra Guzov of Guzov Ofsink, LLC, New York, N.Y.

·         Maria Cristina de la Vega of Professional Translating Services, Inc., Miami, Fla.

·         Shelly Sun of  BrightStar Healthcare and Brightstar Franchising, Chicago, Ill, LLC

·         Michele McGough of solutions4networks, Pittsburg, Penn.

·         Cynthia Wilson of Wilsonwest, Inc., San Francisco, Calif.
